I understand that 14 days notice of cancellations or changes to delegate’s names must be given and that no refunds can be made after that date. All delegates must attend the whole course and any late arrivals may be refused entry. No refunds will be made to delegates who are refused entry due to late arrival, or who leave early. All bookings are taken on a first come first served basis and if the chosen course is oversubscribed then an alternative venue and/or date will be offered. Stockwood Consulting Limited reserves the right to cancel any course, at any time, and issue a full refund. No certificates will be released until payment has been received in full.

Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Pharmacy Service Skills (QCF)

This qualification has been developed in collaboration with Skills for Health, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and the General Pharmaceutical Council to guide and assess the development of knowledge and skills relating to the health workforce in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. This qualification confirms competence in a range of skills undertaken by a pharmacy assistant, including:

  • Assisting with the provision of pharmacy services
  • Assisting with the sale of medicines and products
  • Receiving prescriptions from individuals
  • Ordering, receiving, maintaining and, assisting with the issue of, pharmaceutical stock
  • Assembling and, assisting with the issuing of, prescribed items
  • Assisting with the manufacture and assembly of medicinal products
  • Assisting with the preparation of documentation, materials and other items for manufacture.

 

Qualification requirements

  • Learners must be 16+ years and in relevant employment or work placement
  • Learners must achieve at least 20 credits from mandatory and optional units
  • Guided learning hours will range from 74-91 depending on choice of units
  • Learners must achieve 3 Mandatory Units
  • Learners must achieve at least 4 Optional Units
  • A minimum of 20 credits must be achieved at or above QCF Level 2.

Unit 1: Assist with the provision of a pharmacy service to meet individuals’ needs

Unit 2: Ensure your own Actions Reduce risks to Health and Safety

Unit 3: Contribute to the effectiveness of teams

 

Optional Units

Unit 4: Assist in the sale of medicines and products

Unit 5: Assemble prescribed items

Unit 6: Assist in the issuing of pharmaceutical stock

Unit 7: Assist in the manufacture and assembly of medicinal products

Unit 8: Prepare aseptic products

Unit 9: Prepare documentation, materials, components and other items for the preparation of aseptic products

Unit 10: Assist in the preparation of documentation, materials and other items for manufacture  and assembly of medicinal products

Unit 11: Assist in the issuing of prescribed items

Unit 12: Receive prescriptions from individuals

Unit 13: Receive pharmaceutical stock

Unit 14: Maintain pharmaceutical stock

Unit 15: Undertake an in-process accuracy check of assembled prescribed items prior to the final accuracy check

Unit 16: Order Routine Pharmaceutical stock

 

Delivery

Our delivery methods are highly supportive to learners and their work-based supervisors and include:

  • An allocated, occupationally competent assessor, who is responsible for guiding the candidate through the award
  • Face to face induction to ensure that the candidate understands the standards and how to proceed with the award
  • Two additional half day meetings with the candidate to review progress and undertake assessments by observation
  • Agreed assessment plans with regular reviews
  • Unlimited telephone and email support
  • The use of e-portfolios where appropriate
