£200.00First Aid at Work Requalification Course is a 2 day course specifically for those who already have a 3 day First Aid at Work Course certificate that is about to expire. The First Aid at Work certificate must be within its valid lifetime to be able to do this course. (The First Aid at Work Requalification Course can be taken up to 3 months before date of expiry or within 28 days past expiry of your First Aid at Work certificate).
It can help business meet their requirements under the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981. Content of the First Aid at Work Requalification Course
The course covers the topics of the full First Aid at Work Course in sufficient detail to ensure students are competent on completion be able to:
Understand the role of the first aider including reference to:
– the importance of preventing cross infection
– the need for recording incidents and actions
– use of available equipment
Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure)
Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation CPR
How to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking
Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock
Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters).
Administer first aid to a casualty with
– injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injuries
– chest injuries
– burns and scalds
– eye injuries
– sudden poisoning
– anaphylactic shock
Recognise the presence of major illness and provide appropriate first aid (including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes).
External examination of casualties.
Students MUST supply their previous First Aid at Work qualification details before attending the course. If individuals book on, or are booked on by an employer, the course with an invalid certificate NO STATUTORY CERTIFICATE CAN BE ISSUED.
Registration is at 9.00am and the course begins at 9.15am and finishes at 5.00 pm. If you arrive late then you may not be able to complete the course.
Duration: 12hrs over 2 days. ( Monday and Tuesday)
