This one day first aid course follows the agenda of the HSE approved EFAW course and will result in EFAW certification. The course is contextualised to a rugby club environment and will cover the key skills required for providing emergency first aid for ill and injured players and spectators, including managing head injuries and suspected spinal injuries.
The course syllabus covers:
Incident management
Primary survey
Managing an un-responsive casualty who breathing normally, whether injured or un-injured.
Managing an un-responsive casualty who is not breathing normally, including CPR and an overview of AEDs
Managing a casualty who is choking
Managing a casualty who is having a seizure
Managing a casualty who is bleeding
Concussion and head injuries
Managing minor injuries
The course is fully interactive, giving participants the opportunity to learn and repeatedly practice first aid skills.
