DESCRIPTION:Emergency First Aid at Work Course ( EFAW)  is a 1 day course for people working in a lower risk environment and it can help business meet their requirements under the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981. It covers life saving skills including CPR\, choking and bleeding and use of an AED (defibrillator). \n\nThis is a one day first aid course aimed at lower risk environments and enabling first aiders to provide assistance to those who are ill or injured at work. The course is typically run over one day\, but it can be split over several sessions if needs be. \nIf you work in a higher risk environment then our 3 day First Aid at Work Course may be more suitable. You can check which course you need using our handy first aid requirements calculator \nOur courses are fun and interactive and give you lots of practising of the skills you have learned. \n\n\n\n  \n  \n  \n\nContent of the Emergency First Aid at Work Course ( EFAW)\n\nVital Signs – breathing\, level of consciousness\, temperature and colour\nIncident Management – a systematic approach to managing first aid incidents\nAirway Management – causes and treatment of unconscious collapse\nCardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)\nSafe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)\nBreathing Problems – choking\nCirculation Problems – controlling external bleeding and treatment for shock\nMinor Injuries – small cuts\, grazes and bruises\, minor burns and scalds\, small splinters\nSafe best practice – minimise the risk of infection\nRecord keeping – recording accidents\, RIDDOR\, First Aid kits\, disposing safely of clinical waste\nRoles and responsibilities of the first aider\n\nPackage\nInteractive hands on practical training\nOne CPR training manikin per 2 participants\nEasy to follow individual course manual\nA certificate valid for 3 years\nCandidate contact time is 6 hours during a 7.5 hour session. \nRegistration is at 9.00am and the course begins at 9.15am and finishes at 5.00 pm. DESCRIPTION:First Aid at Work Requalification Course is a 2 day course specifically for those who already have a 3 day First Aid at Work Course certificate that is about to expire. The First Aid at Work certificate must be within its valid lifetime to be able to do this course. (The First Aid at Work Requalification Course can be taken up to 3 months before date of expiry or within 28 days past expiry of your First Aid at Work certificate). \nIt can help business meet their requirements under the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981. This course is aimed at requalifying the First Aid at Work certificate but if you want to requalify your Emergency First Aid at Work certificate then doing our 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work Course is the way to do that.. \n  \n  \nContent of the First Aid at Work Requalification Course \nThe course covers the topics of the full First Aid at Work Course in sufficient detail to ensure students are competent on completion be able to:\nUnderstand the role of the first aider including reference to:\n– the importance of preventing cross infection\n– the need for recording incidents and actions\n– use of available equipment\nAssess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely\, promptly and effectively in an emergency\nAdminister first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure)\nAdminister cardiopulmonary resuscitation CPR\nHow to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)\nAdminister first aid to a casualty who is choking\nAdminister first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding\nAdminister first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock\nProvide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts\, grazes and bruises\, minor burns and scalds\, small splinters).\nAdminister first aid to a casualty with\n– injuries to bones\, muscles and joints\, including suspected spinal injuries\n– chest injuries\n– burns and scalds\n– eye injuries\n– sudden poisoning\n– anaphylactic shock\nRecognise the presence of major illness and provide appropriate first aid (including heart attack\, stroke\, epilepsy\, asthma\, diabetes).\nExternal examination of casualties. \nStudents MUST supply their previous First Aid at Work qualification details before attending the course. If individuals book on\, or are booked on by an employer\, the course with an invalid certificate NO STATUTORY CERTIFICATE CAN BE ISSUED. \nRegistration is at 9.00am and the course begins at 9.15am and finishes at 5.00 pm. DESCRIPTION:First Aid at Work Course (FAW) is a three day (18 hour) course. It is aimed at equipping the first aider with a range of skills to deal with emergency situations as well as managing a range of illnesses and injuries. The 3 day course follows the  Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Course syllabus for the first day and then expanding on the skills acquired on days 2 and 3. It can help business meet their requirements under the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981.
