This 2 Day Mental Health First Aid Course developed by MHFA England is suitable for anyone who want to gain the necessary skills to have a non-judgemental conversation, recognise the signs and symptoms of common workplace mental health issues and effectively guide a person towards the right support. It qualifies you as a mental health first aider. Delegates will get a deep understanding of what mental health is and what factors can affect well being. The course teaches you practical skills to spot the signs of mental illness and gives you the confidence to step in and support a person who needs assistance.

Our course is delivered by an experienced MHFA trainer and numbers are limited to 16 people per course so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn.
The course is delivered through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions and is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan.
Everyone who completes the course gets an MHFA manual to keep and refer to whenever they need it, a workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health and a certificate of attendance from MHFA England to say they are a Mental Health First Aider.
Mental Health First Aiders have:
– An in depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
– Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
– Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
– Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
– Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix
Line managers can also get a copy of the Line Managers’ Resource, an invaluable source of advice on how to support an employee experiencing mental ill health.

Registration is at 9.00am and the course finishes each day at 5.00 pm. If you arrive late then you may not be able to complete the course.
